    SUMMER POP UP BOUTIQUE<BR/ > IN SAINT-TROPEZ

    SUMMER POP UP BOUTIQUE
    IN SAINT-TROPEZ

Saint‑Tropez on the French Riviera encapsulates the Mediterranean lifestyle. And it's here in this village that CHANEL has, every year for the last nine years, opened its pop-up boutique. For the duration of the summer, a new decor is created at the mansion 'La Mistralée', located between the Old Port and the Place des Lices. This season, the interior is a blend of rough and raw ornamentation and geometrical design, echoing the Hamburg docks that inspired the 2017/18 Métiers d'art collection. Metal walls with circular openings like portholes showcase the CHANEL designs. The space extends to a pool house by a shady garden with palm trees and cacti.

    HANDBAG STORIES:
    EMBROIDERED TWEED

Gabrielle Chanel's ambition was to allow women's bodies a sense of freedom. When she set out to create the 2.55 handbag in February 1955, a date which lent its name to the visionary accessory, she came up with a deliberately practical design, worn across the body like a hunter's or soldier's bag. Years later, Karl Lagerfeld conjured up the Classic bag, inspired by the 2.55. It adds CHANEL's emblematic double C to the clasp and entwines leather into the chain strap.

For Spring‑Summer 2018, the handbag comes beaded in checked tweed, giving a new texture to the bag.

    CRYSTAL-CLEAR BEADS

The Classic handbag, Karl Lagerfeld's take on Gabrielle Chanel's iconic design, is reimagined season after season with each collection.

Immaculate in white tweed, the new version from the Spring‑Summer 2018 collection is embroidered with transparent beads, reminiscent of water droplets.

    HANDBAG STORIES:
    CHANEL'S GABRIELLE BAG

CHANEL’s GABRIELLE bag brings together two materials and expresses the masculine/feminine style so dear to Gabrielle Chanel, after whom it is named. A recent design by Karl Lagerfeld, the handbag takes its inspiration from virtual reality glasses, giving it a decidedly contemporary look. A rigid base and soft body heighten the multiple contrasts. Thanks to the double silver and gold metal chain, it can be worn in different ways, long or short, on the shoulder or across the body or both.
