It was Gabrielle Chanel's idea to arrange mirrors along the length of the staircase. They would provide a fragmented view of what was going on downstairs—the show. Mademoiselle Chanel liked to sit at the top of the stairs out of view, watching every detail of each presentation, and the reactions of the guests.

Cuba’s lush vegetation offers an endless palette of greens. Imitating nature, these hues cover some of the city’s facades. The brilliant green of the foliage makes its appearance in the embroideries, sequins and tweed of the collection.

Red is present in the motifs and tweeds of the Cruise collection, in shades of carmine, scarlet, vermilion, ruby, crimson and amaranth. These colors of vegetable or mineral origin, reflected in the facades and the hibiscus flower known as Mar Pacífico, are intertwined with the history of Cuba.

The silk, denim, tweed and knitwear pieces in the Cruise collection feature hues of turquoise, azure, navy, cyan, indigo and cobalt. In Havana, shutters, doors and walls are painted in tones ranging from sky blue to ultramarine. Luminous, vibrant, powdery or clear, blue is everywhere in Cuba.
